SMITH
For more than 90 years, Smith Electric Vehicles has been a leading manufacturer of electric vehicles for organisations and institutions. This company has been the largest producer of this type of transport since 1920, and thousands of Smith vehicles are in use all around the world.

Smith has unique knowledge of developing and manufacturing electric motors and drive systems, and they applied their technological know-how to produce the world’s first 7.5 tonne electric truck in 2006.

A battery management system is a key component of all electric vehicles, and Smith has developed equipment that has attracted a great deal of attention. In 2007, Smith launched its Edison range, which includes 3.5 tonne delivery vans and people carriers.

The Smith Newton electric goods vehicle is available in 16 models, with 7.5t, 10t and 12t chassis configurations. The truck has a range of up to 120 miles on a single charge, recharge time from six hours and a top speed of 50mph.
