The Icelandic National EV Program
Vehicle electrification in Iceland is based on providing a comprehensive solution that covers all aspects of electrification under a single brand. This includes the integration of the following items:

• Build a network of recharging points and high-speed recharging stations
• Develop energy sales to EV owners and integrate them with oil companies’ facilities
• Establish a payment system for EV owners
• Build up EV sales and services networks
• Promote and encourage the switch to EVs
• Create a natural secondary market for EVs
• Recycle EV components, e.g. batteries
• Educate people on the value of vehicle electrification
• Amend legislation and regulations to take into account electric vehicles

Volcanic Batteries
The creation and operation of a lithium battery production plant in Iceland in co-operation with a Chinese battery manufacturer. The factory will use geothermal energy in the production process and electricity generated in a sustainable manner using geothermal steam or hydroelectric power. Battery production will have the least possible effect on the environment.

Volcanic Finland
Volcanic Finland Oy is a company that specialises in research, development and the implementation of knowledge related to batteries for use by the car industry. A new, small-scale production unit will be established in the Kokola Industry Park in Finland to develop new methods of battery manufacture in collaboration with chemical and technology companies in that region.
